Poetry "Damaged"
Some people say you're damaged,
Broken, not all there.
Like bits and chips of shattered china,
But I can't say I care.
You might say I'm damaged,
Lost, and off the beaten path;
I feel that I am missing something,
And can never get it back.
But see our hands together!
Entwined and formed as one.
We're two silhouetted lovebirds,
Left to crash into the sun.
And we'll crash together,
If that means being free.
Sparks and flares and lightning bolts,
Together, you and me.
They say that we're both damaged,
Too shattered for each respective role,
So let's bring what's left of us together,
To make each other whole.
